Since 1870, Hopewell has sought to serve God above all else. Our name comes from a story about a man willing to give land to some people who were eager to have a church closer to where they lived. As the church was being constructed, a passer-by asked, "What's the name of the church?" In finding out that a name hadn't been decided on yet, he commented, "I hope it does well." That statement brought about the dream of what Hopewell could become. Now, we are living out the dream of those who established the original church by serving our God, our community, and reaching those around us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
